Hudson's automobiles were an important part of everyday American life in the 1940's and 50's. They were reasonably priced, well built and fun to drive.Many a Hudson traveled to the local diner for a burger after the Friday night football game, or to the drugstore soda fountain before the Saturday afternoon matinée. During the week, more were parked at the corner grill in the town square, their owners having a salad or chicken fried steak at lunch.

The name "Hudson" came from J.L. Hudson, a Detroit department store entrepreneur and founder of Hudson's Department Store. Mr. Hudson along with 7 other business men banded together to create the Hudson Motor Car Company in 1909. Fast forward a few decades to 1984 when a man by the name of Travis Bryant decided to build a restaurant that utilized the same basic business philosophies that the Hudson Motor Car Company did. A philosophy based on quality products, pride in workmanship and care for the consumer. So over 20 years ago the first Hudson's Grill concept opened in Ventura, California.
Over the years Hudson's Grill International, Inc. has enjoyed continued growth through several franchises. Hudson's Grill Franchises can be found in California, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Our owners Bill & Sue Hall opened their first Hudson's Grill franchise on December 18th, 2000 in Wausau, Wisconsin. A second location followed on September 9th, 2002 in Marshfield, Wisconsin and most recently a third Hudson's Grill opened on October 9th, 2006 in Plover, Wisconsin.
